Excelebration shuttles to Coolmore

Coolmore has announced Excelebration will shuttle to Australia this year after covering his first northern book in County Tipperary.

Excelebration is Exceed And Excel’s best performed son winning at Group 1 level three times – his first was for trainer Marco Botti in the Prix du Moulin at Longchamp (1600m).

Transferred to Aidan O’Brien stable at four, he added the G1 Prix Jacques Le Marois (1600m) and Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (1600m).  He was also runner-up to Frankel (Galileo) three times at Group 1 level.

“Excelebration is a very good-looking Group 1 miler from the Danehill line so we are delighted that he will be coming down to us,” Coolmore manager Michael Kirwan said.  “He’s a big, strong horse with great quality and a lovely head.  All the best breeders in Europe have supported him and I have no doubt that he will prove equally popular here in Australia.”

Excelebration is out of the Indian Ridge (Ahonoora) mare Sun Shower making him a half brother to recent Group winner Mull Of Killough (Mull Of Kintyre).  An Australian fee will be announced at a later date.
