Exceed And Excel colt in Coolmore camp

Coolmore has secured exciting Exceed And Excel colt Excelebration for stud duties.

Excelebration will continue to run for the rest of the season for owner Giuliano Manfredini.  A decision will be taken at the end of the year whether he will race on at four.

Excelebration (3c Exceed and Excel – Sun Shower by Indian Ridge) won at Doncaster and Newmarket last summer and was sidelined for nine months before striking Frankel first-up in the G3 Greenham Stakes at Newbury in April.

He cleared out to a seven length victory in the G2 German 2000 Guineas in May and was last seen scoring a dazzling victory in the G2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on August 13.

Excelebration was bred at Owenstown Stud and was a 20,000 pounds buy for Manfredini at the 2009 Doncaster August yearling sale.  His dam retired a maiden after six starts while second dam Miss Kemble (Warning) is a half-sister to G1 Irish Oaks winner Princess Pati (Top Ville).

Exceed and Excel was the star of York’s Ebor Festival this week siring G1 Nunthorpe Stakes winner Margot Did and G2 Lowther Stakes winner Best Terms.

He has just finished covering a sixth northern book at Darley’s Dalham Hall Stud for a 12,000 pounds service fee.

The Excelebration sale was concluded on Coolmore’s behalf by Blandford Bloodstock.  The deal is believed to value him at AUD 2.07 million.
