Equine excellence at Perth Magic Millions

Touchstone Farm heads to Belmont Park this Sunday with 10 Vital Equine yearlings for the Magic Millions Winter Sale.

Vital Equine, a G2 Irish bred son of Danetime, is one of Sunspeed’s up-and-coming sires with just two crops racing.  Unbeaten filly Takanori got him off to a great start with wins at her first two starts before sweeping the LR South-West Breeders Classic (1400m).

Vital Importance fronts his second crop and her current campaign has also been highlighted by a hat-trick at Ascot and Belmont.  “She does best when allowed to drop out and come with a strong sprint,” trainer Neville Parnham said.  “She might be a WA Oaks filly next year.”

A progressive filly, Vital Importance was going for four-on-end at Belmont last Saturday but her trademark finish came up a couple of lengths short of highly-touted youngster Ihtsahymn.

The Vital Equines are on parade early at Belmont this Sunday.  There are 4 yearlings in the first dozen to parade – Lot 12 is the colt from Witchcrafts.  “He’s a February Sale style colt,” Touchstone’s Alayna Bishop said this week.  “He’s an athletic type and catches the eye.”

Later in the day, Touchstone offers the Vital Equine filly out of Reality Flies (Lot 110).  “Nice, tall filly and already looks like a racehorse,” Bishop commented.  “She’s a strong, precocious type.”

The Touchstone draft of 20 yearlings also includes a Danasinga – Ellenbrook gelding (Lot 52).  He’s nice type out of a half-sister to Wool Zone who won a WA St Leger for Ross Price.

Touchstone Farm resident Flying Pegasus has 7 yearlings on site at Belmont and the first to sell is the filly from Away (Lot 26).  The dam is an unraced mare by Octagonal and is a half-sister to G1 winning sprinter Sports.  “Looks the part and is from a family of stakes winners,” Bishop added.  “She’s readymade for the racetrack.”

Flying Pegasus is a FuPeg sire and he kicked off with G2 WA Guineas winner King Saul.  The Rising is best of his second crop winning 6 of his 8 starts – the last of them on May 25 when he defied running down at Belmont.

The Touchstone draft is stabled in Rows T, U & S at the Belmont Park sales complex.
