Equiano back at Newsells Park

Equiano (Fr) is back at Newsells Park after covering his second southern book at Swettenham Stud.

A dual winner of the G1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, Equiano served 270 mares in his first two northern seasons and his third book is filling fast at the Hertfordshire stud.

“He’s looks incredible and is in great form,” Newsells Park general manager Julian Dollar said.  “I inspected him less than 12 hours after he got off the plane from Australia and he was so laid-back!”

Equiano stands for an 8,000 pounds (AUD 12,205) service fee.  His first foals sold to 70,000gns (AUD 112,525) at last year’s Tattersalls December Sale and to 90,000 euros (AUD 111,120) at the Goffs November Sale.

There were 29 Equiano foals that changed hands at the Sales and their breeders were rewarded with a healthy average and median of over three times his stud fee.

Equiano (Acclamation) has been just as popular at Swettenham Stud and has taken to dual-hemisphere duties in his stride with a sky-high fertility rate of 96%.
