Eliza Park International foals a feature on Gold Coast

Eliza Park International has the biggest draft of foals of any Victorian based stud at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale commencing on Sunday.

Five lots have been withdrawn from an initial consignment of 30 foals and there are also colts by Foxwedge and Love Conquers All being offered on behalf of Racetree owner Kevin Dixon.

“We’ve been very busy with inspections this week, especially over the last two days,” Eliza Park International’s Philip Marshall said at the Gold Coast on Friday.  “There’s a positive vibe on the grounds and it looks like being a strong sale.”

Marshall pin-pointed several foals that will be in demand at the Weanling Sale.  The Not A Single Doubt – Debutante colt (Lot 44) and Foxwedge – Bruges filly (Lot 464) are among the highlights.

The Statue of Liberty – Strectrum’s Image colt (Lot 342) and High Chaparral – Presumed Innocent filly (Lot 267) have also been popular during pre-sale inspections.

“The Not A Single Doubt colt is a half-brother to Veuvelicious and she won the Fernill Handicap at Randwick last month,” Marshall said.  “We bought their dam Debutante carrying the colt and she’s back in foal to Wanted.

“The Statue of Liberty is a half-brother to the Adelaide stakes winner Hooness.  He’s a typical Statue of Liberty and looks a strong, running colt.

“We bought quite a few mares here at the National Sale last year.  They were then covered by our stallions Bel Esprit, Magnus and Wanted which makes those foals Super VOBIS qualified.”

One of those mares was the former Colin Little trained stakes performer Bruges who was purchased by Eliza Park International under its Sun Kingdom banner for $52,500.  She changed hands carrying the Foxwedge filly and she’s back in foal to Wanted.

Eliza Park International is also continuing the launch of its new stallions Fiorente and Fighting Sun.  “It’s a perfect opportunity to promote both stallions with breeders from around Australia here on the Gold Coast,” Marshall explained.  “We’ve already taken bookings to both stallions in the lead-up to the sale.”

The Eliza Park International draft is stabled in Barns S and T at the sales complex.
