Elite talent by Testa Rossa

Testa Rossa put the finishing touches on another successful juvenile season when his progressive youngster Testashadow won at Randwick on Saturday.

The Gary Portelli trained gelding helped Testa Rossa ($2.17 million) edge ahead of Exceed And Excel and Snitzel in a close contest for second spot on the Australian 2YO premiership

Fellow Vinery resident Mossman is home and hosed for the 2YO title with $3 million in prizemoney.

Testashadow (2g Testa Rossa – Moonlight Shadow by Flying Spur) looked an emerging talent when running down Good Project in an exciting finish to the TAB Early Quaddie Hcp (1400m).  “He got into a nice rhythm and let down nicely,” winning jockey Lester Grace said.  “He ran the 1400m right out and is probably looking for a mile now.”

Elite Thoroughbreds bought the Randwick winner for $50,000 at the 2013 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  With the addition of a BOBS incentive, his syndicate have already banked over $81,300.

Testa Rossa’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic winner Unencumbered cost $70,000 at the same sale.

There’s another promising Testa Rossa two year-old in Melbourne named Devon Princess.  The Mick Price trained filly is a last-start winner of the $160,000 VOBIS Gold Classic (1300m) at Swan Hill.

Testa Rossa will stand for a $27,500 (inc gst) service fee at Vinery this year.
