Drosselmeyer shuttles to Brazil

Drosselmeyer will shuttle from WinStar Farm in Kentucky to Brazil for the 2012 southern hemisphere breeding season.

“The world of horse racing is becoming more global all the time and we are always looking for strategic partners who share our values,” WinStar President Elliott Walden said.  “I think Drosselmeyer will be a great fit for TNT Stud in Brazil  He was a top-class racehorse who ran three years at a high level and was very sound.  He is an awesome-looking horse.”

Drosselmeyer (Distorted Humor – Golden Ballet by Moscow Ballet) won the 2010 Belmont Stakes and 2011 Breeders’ Cup Classic.  He was also runner-up in the G1 Jockey Club Gold Cup Stakes, G2 Brooklyn Handicap and G2 Dwyer Stakes.

WinStar shuttled 2010 Kentucky Derby winner Super Saver to Victorian based Eliza Park last year.  Back in 2000, WinStar sent Drosselmeyer’s sire Distorted Humor to Independent Stallions but he was shunned by Victorian breeders.
