Dream Ballad breakthrough at Tamworth

There was a strong local connection when Dream Ballad sired his first winner at Tamworth on Friday.  A Singspiel half-brother to Tie The Knot, he broke through with Our Jillian in the Biz Essentials Maiden Plate (1000m).

Our Jillian (3f Dream Ballad – Chip Of Gold by Mr. Investor) is trained on the track by Jeanette Holton and defeated even-money favourite Hennessy’s View by a head at just her second start.

Dream Ballad was trained by Guy Walter and carried the famous red and white colours of the Tait family to a Listed victory in the 2005 Dulcify Hcp at Randwick.  His older half-brother Tie The Knot won 13 races at G1 level including four editions of the Chipping Norton Stakes.

Dream Ballad is based at Erin Park Stud which is situated on the Peel River approximately 12km north of Tamworth.  He stands alongside Youthful Legs (Explodent) and Olympus (Danehill).
