Dollar Dash in Singapore

Dash For Cash has launched his latest crop of two year-olds with a stunning winner in Singapore.

Silver Dollar was an eye-catcher on debut in the IRT Juvenile Stakes (1100m) at Kranji on Friday evening.  In-form apprentice A’Isisuhairi Kasim had him handy behind the leaders and then scooted three lengths clear in the straight.

Silver Dollar (2c Dash For Cash – Octad by Octagonal) is trained by Sam Chua for Hippocrates Stable owner Dr Tan Kai Chah.  “From Day 1, I knew he had ability but what impressed me the most was how well educated he was,” Chua said.  “He did everything right.”

The IRT Juvenile is the third-leg of the Singapore Golden Horseshoe series.  “This is the first horse that I’ve ever trained for Dr Tan and I’m glad he’s won on debut and in a feature race on top of that.”

Chua has not mapped out any specific plans.  “If he pulls up well, I may go for another leg of the Golden Horseshoe and if he keeps showing ability, then I will think about the Final.  But he’s still a baby and nothing has been set in concrete.”

A grey just like his sire, Silver Dollar sold for $40,000 at the 2012 Gold Coast Magic Millions HIT Sale which made him eligible for a S$30,000 bonus above the S$48,195 prizemoney.

Singapore’s boom apprentice A’Isisuhairi Kasim was confident of a first-up win.  “He’s been working well and won a trial last week.  He’s done everything right but is still a bit green.  I got him balanced in the straight and he just kept galloping away without me having to use the stick.”

Dash For Cash will stand for $7,700 (inc gst) at Swettenham Stud this year.  His yearlings sold for 10 times his service fee at the 2013 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale.

Adelaide flyer Dashitude was the leading Dash For Cash two year-old in 2011-12.  She won three races at Morphettville headed by the LR Dequetteville Stakes and added another at Caulfield on her first trip to Melbourne.
