Disputes breakthrough at Rosehill

Disputes had shown ability right from the outset so it was no surprise when she broke through for her first win in the LR Reginald Allen Hcp (1400m) on Saturday.

The Manton filly notched the opening leg of a treble for the Darley connection at Rosehill.  Lamasery (Commands) followed up with a G3 victory in the Colin Stephen Hcp and Screen (Lonhro) completed a winning afternoon in the G3 Golden Pendant.

Disputes (3f Manton – Family Breakup by Octagonal) was placed in the Listed Gimcrack Stakes on debut at Randwick when jockey Craig Newitt issued a prophetic assessment.  “She has untapped potential,” Newitt said back in October 2010.  “She will develop into a very handy horse and will be better as a three year old over ground.”

Disputes is a younger half-sister to G3 Thousand Guineas Prelude winner Divorces (Domesday).  Second-dam Royal Accord (Imperial Prince) was a G2 winner of the Laurent Perrier Stakes at Moonee Valley.

Manton (Danehill) is a brother to WA champion sire Blackfriars and was a G2 winner of the 2006 Tulloch Stakes at Rosehill before retiring to Woodlands.  He was subsequently transferred to Tareena Stud which is situated on the NSW north coast.

Tareena studmaster Ian McRobert stands Manton for a $5,000 fee alongside Killy (Redoute’s Choice) and Floral Dynamite (Danehill).

Floral Dynamite was a G1 performer in Hong Kong and he was also among the winners on Saturday when Nitroson scored at Newcastle.
