The latest foal from Dick Turpin’s first crop has arrived at Rosyground Stud in Newmarket. A filly, she is from the highly-regarded Irish bred mare Crinkle.
Rosyground Stud owners Mary and Michael Kennell reacted by requesting another nomination form to Dick Turpin this year. “A good sized filly with a lovely shoulder and great bone,” they said. “She’s a filly with plenty of scope and we will definitely be in the market to use Dick Turpin again.”
Crinkle (Distant Relative – Crinolette by Sadler’s Wells) has a perfect five-from-five record at stud with winners by Mujahid (2), Reset, Polish Precedent and Byron. Her Paco Boy weanling filly made 44,000gns (AUD 70,690) to the bid of Highclere Stud at the 2012 Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
Dick Turpin (Ire) is about to begin his second book at the English National Stud after serving an initial southern book at Gray Williamson’s Mungrup Stud in Western Australia.
His first foal – a colt from Saint Ann (Geiger Counter) – was delivered at Wood Farm Stud in Cumbria last week. He is a half-brother to G3 performer Sienna Storm (Peintre Celebre).
