Diamonds are trumps for Street Boss

Darley shuttler Street Boss was represented by his first Australian winner when Hailin’ Diamonds scored a half-head victory at Werribee on Sunday.

Hailin’ Diamonds (2f Street Boss – Coming Storm by Flying Spur) tracked Avalanches (Street Cry) and then overhauled the front-runner to score by a half-head in the VOBIS Gold 2YO Maiden Plate (1100m).  Slew Left (Kheleyf) made it a trifecta for Darley sires in third place.

Hailin’ Diamonds is a member of the Team Hawkes stable and is raced by Geoff Coady.  She was bred and sold by Bowness Stud for $20,000 at the 2012 Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Street Boss was a G1 winner of the Bing Crosby Handicap and G1 Triple Bend Invitational and he stands for an $11,000 (inc gst) fee at Darley’s Northwood Park nursery in Victoria.  He has no yearlings at the 2013 majors having missed the corresponding southern season in 2010.

Street Boss sired 20 individual winners in North America last year.  His Canadian based colt Bosco headed the roll-call with a Listed victory in the Edmonton Juvenile Stakes in Vancouver.
