Denmarket off the mark at Gold Coast

Goldmount Lodge sire Denmarket celebrated his first winner at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Here’s To Ya (2f Denmarket – Novotaine by Centaine) had finished fourth on debut at Eagle Farm last month and she stripped much fitter for a front-running victory in the Insurance Aid General Brokers Hcp (900m).

The talented filly is trained by David Kelly for owner Phil Sullivan and she is the first foal to the races from Denmarket’s initial crop.

Denmarket (Lord Dane) started his career in Perth winning the G3 WA Sires’ Produce Stakes and LR Supremacy Stakes.  Transferred to Gerald Ryan in Sydney, he reached a career-high when defeating Stratum in the G2 Roman Consul Stakes at Randwick.

Denmarket is by Heytesbury Stud sire Lord Dane (Danehill) and is a younger half-brother to Rangeview Stud’s prolific Perth winner-getter Key Business (Success Express).

His Gold Coast winner is a half-sister to minor winners by Spinning World, O’Reilly and Tale of the Cat.  Their dam Novotaine is a sister to Flemington stakes winner Wyndam Special.
