Deep Impacts dominate JRHA Sale

The Japan Racing Horse Association has announced 250 yearlings and 226 foals have been entered for its July Select Sale in Hokkaido.  The auction opens with the yearling session on July 9 before foals are sold on July 10.

Horse of the Year and sire sensation Deep Impact will be represented by 14 yearlings and 16 foals.  Deep Impact stands at Shadai Stallion Station and his filly Gentildonna completed the Japanese 1000 Guineas – Oaks double by five lengths last weekend.

The catalogue also includes the first yearling by Sea The Stars to be offered at public auction in 2012.  Sea The Stars was the 2009 European Horse of the Year winning six Group 1 events including the Epsom Derby and Arc de Triomphe.  His colt out of Starlight Dreams is a half brother to G1 winner Mastercraftsman.

King Kamehameha, two-time leading sire in Japan, is represented by 14 yearlings and 9 foals and the catalogue includes foals from the first Japanese crop by Belmont Stakes winner Empire Maker.

Zenno Rob Roy also has a colt from Azeri, the 2002 USA Horse of the Year and three-time Eclipse Award winner.  There are foals out of North American G1 winners Nonsuch Bay, Ermine, Dancing Edie, Sky Diva, and Spoken Fur; and half-siblings to G1 winners Rightly So and Turbulent Descent.

The full catalogue will be available on June 11 at http://www.jrha-selectsale.com.
