King’s Best mare Seven Stars made top price of $180,000 during Day 3 of the Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale on Thursday.
A half-sister to Dubai World Cup winner Monterosso, she is already the proven producer of G2 winning three-year-old Happy Galaxy. Belmont Bloodstock bought her in foal to first season sire Poet’s Voice.
Following her on the leader-board were city winning Redoute’s Choice mare Tropicana Girl who was bought by Corumbene Stud for $140,000 and Encosta de Lago mare Senesta (Lot 436) who was picked up by Claredale Pastoral of South Australia for $120,000.
“Nice to finish our busy two weeks of the Easter yearling and broodmare sales just like it started, with many lots making more than their reserves,” Inglis bloodstock director Jonathan D’Arcy said. “It has been a great fortnight in Sydney with outstanding results at the yearling sale flowing into solid results this week.”
Thursday’s abbreviated Select Select session saw $1.16 million traded on 54 mares at a $21,487 average.
Thursday’s General session grossed $272,600 on 57 mares at a $4,782 average.
