Day 3 Arqana December Sale – Horse France buys Zalafira

The Aga Khan Studs maintained their popularity at the Arqana December Sale when Zalafira topped the Day 3 leader-board at 39,000 euros.

Horse France agent Robert Nataf bought her on behalf of Hubert Mazo who is expanding his breeding operations.  Zalafira (Nashwan) is a daughter of G1 French 1000 Guineas winner Zalaiyka and was sold in foal to leading young sire Dark Angel.

The Aga Khan Studs topped Day 2 at the Deauville Sale when Shamardal filly Sagariya realised 120,000 euros.

Nataf and Gérard Larrieu (Chantilly Bloodstock) bought 43 lots between them during the penultimate session.  There was also very strong participation among foreign investors from Germany, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Denmark, Spain, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Qatar, Tunisia and Turkey.

Arqana reported Monday’s trade reached 1.54 million euros at a clearance rate of 76%.  The average increased 8% to 8,594 euros.
