Day 3 Adelaide Magic Millions – Average increases 5%

Colts by Shinzig and Good Journey topped Day 3 at the Adelaide Magic Millions yearling sale as spirited bidding from the opening two sessions continued at Morphettville.

One of the colts is bound for Singapore while the other will stay in Adelaide after both sold for $45,000 on Wednesday.

The Shinzig colt (Lot 360) was presented by Eliza Park International and was knocked down to leading Singapore based trainer Patrick Shaw.  He is destined to join his four-time winning half brother Super Kenny at Kranji.

The colt by Good Journey (Lot 397) was purchased by local trainer Nick Smart.  Offered by Cornerstone Stud, the colt is from a winning Scenic mare and his second-dam is former quality filly Lolita Star.

The top priced filly of the day was Balcrest Stud’s Ad Valorem filly (Lot 289) from the Bellotto mare Ambolene.  A half sister to Ambika and a direct descendant of the Goodwood Handicap winner Ambala, the filly was purchased by local trainer Will Clarken for $38,000.

Book 2 trade on Wednesday reached $1,009,300 for 89 lots while the average was up 5% to $11,340.  The clearance rate was a buoyant 84%.
