After the weanling session of NZ Bloodstock’s National Sale concluded on Thursday, attention turned to the mixed sessions which was topped by Prestigious Miss at $80,000.
Offered by Oxford Thoroughbreds, the G2 performed daughter of Written Tycoon was purchased by Curraghmore Stud. “She’s a lovely, quality mare with good performance, and I thought she was great value,” commented studmaster Gordon Cunningham. “She’s going to visit Pierro in the spring.”
It capped off a highly successful two days for Curraghmore. The Ohaupo based stud was the leading weanling vendor for the 8th year in a row. Their Savabeel – Skeena colt is the top lot of the sale thus far at $115,000.
In total, 58 of the 81 horses on offer during the afternoon of Day 2 sold for $277,950 at an average of $4,792 and clearance of 78% providing total turnover of $2.81 million across the past two days of selling.
The Broodmare session (Lots 430 – 658) will complete the National Sale at Karaka on Friday.
