Hong Kong businessman Cheung Ting Kong has teamed up with Eliza Park to spend $935,000 during second foal session of the Magic Millions National Sale.
Among his buys was the top selling Fastnet Rock – Sorority Girl colt that was knocked down for $290,000. “Mr Cheung really loves Fastnet Rock,” Eliza Park’s David O’Callaghan said. “We hope the colt will become a top racehorse and perhaps even develop into a stallion.”
Cheung Ting Kong and Eliza Park also teamed up to buy the Exceed And Excel – Up State filly ($250,000) and the Commands – Terrenora colt ($210,000).
Also making $210,000 was the Encosta de Lago – Rosa’s Spur filly from Bellerive Stud that was purchased by Queensland agent John Foote. She is a half sister to Melbourne stakes winning filly Members Joy.
Another $210,000 graduate was the Snitzel – Royal Pageant colt from Kitchwin Hills that was bought by NSW agent Martin Byrne. His dam is a blood sister to Academy Dancer (LR VATC Schweppes Cup).
The National Weanling Sale rounded out with over $8.54 million traded on 237 lots. The average price was up 5% to $36,042. The clearance rate lifted 8 points to a lofty 87%.
