Day 2 Inglis VOBIS Gold Sale – Record clearance of 87%

The overwhelming strength of the Inglis Yearling Sale Series continued throughout the second session of the VOBIS Gold Sale at Oaklands Junction on Monday.

The Select Session finished with a record clearance rate of 87% with 202 Lots sold at an average price of $13,231 and median of $10,000.

A Star Witness x Strikeline filly (Lot 313) from Golden Grove topped the Sale at $90,000.  She is the full sister to stakes-winning two-year-old The Barrister.

Equalling the highest price later in the day was the So You Think x Danaupair Starlet colt (Lot 333) from Woodside Park Stud.  He was pin-hooked by New Zealand-based Lyndhurst Farm.

“The strength of the market remained right to the end with well-presented yearlings regularly exceeding expectations,” Inglis Victorian director Peter Heagney said.  “The benefits from the Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold schemes are too good to overlook and this sale gave purchasers an opportunity to participate in those great bonuses.”

Premier Victorian trainer Darren Weir was the leading individual buyer with six yearlings for a total of $150,000.  Other local trainers who were active include Wendy Kelly, Luke Oliver, Shaun Dwyer, Robbie Griffiths, Ciaron Maher, Robbie Laing and Troy Corstens.

The Best Presented draft was awarded to Greta West vendor Bucklee Farm.
