Day 2 Arqana December Sale – Shamardal leader from Aga Khan

Shamardal filly Sagariya topped Day 2 of the Arqana December Sale when making 120,000 euros to the bid of trainer Patrick Monfort.

Offered on account of The Aga Khan Studs, Sagariya is a from a sister to Group 1 winners Sagamix and Sagacity.  Monfort had to fight off Australian agent Robert Roulston for the three year-old who had won the Prix des Buttes (2200m) at Chantilly in September.

The Aga Khan Studs sold all 12 lots catalogued for Sunday’s session at Deauville.  Among them was Vizinga and Roulston had better luck with the Marju filly when bidding stopped at 75,000 euros.  She is from G3 Prix de Flore winner Visorama and will stay in training in France before going to the United States.

The market was very active on Day 2 in spite of generating prices which were logically inferior to those achieved on Day 1.  The average was 20,188 euros and the clearance rate was 75%.
