Dashing win on Skawboard

Champion trainer Peter Moody produced Skawboard Pressure for a promising first-up victory at Ballarat on Sunday. The Dash For Cash gelding was always travelling like winner for jockey Jake Duffy in the Seymours On Lydiard Plate (1200m).

“He’s a professional and has been showing up at home,” Duffy said. “He dropped the bit down the hill but picked up and was very strong on the line. He’s still raw and star-gazed in the straight but it’s obvious there’s more improvement there.”

Skawboard Pressure (3g Dash For Cash – Eskaw by Chief Bearhart) was a $55,000 buy at the 2011 Gold Coast Magic Millions. Moody knows the family well having trained his dam for owner-breeder Stuart Ramsey.

NZ bred mare Eskaw was a consistent money-spinner winning the 2006 Mitty’s Cup at Caulfield before finishing a close second to Publishing in the G2 Standish Hcp at Flemington. She is a half-sister to the Spinning World stakes winners Our Quivira (G3 SAJC Dermody Stakes) and Kishkat (LR AJC Toy Show Hcp).

Dash For Cash has seven yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale in March starting with the brother to Listed SAJC Dequetteville Stakes winner Dashitude (Lot 37).

There are five lots from Swettenham including the brother to the Chris Waller trained Arinosa (Lot 228). She doubled up at Canterbury and Rosehill earlier this season before claiming the VRC Greys Plate at Flemington during the Melbourne Cup carnival.
