Dash For Cash lands Loot at Caulfield

Loot ‘N’ Run commenced a quick-fire treble for Dash For Cash in the $100,000 CFV Great Strides Hcp (1400m) at Caulfield on Saturday.

Swettenham Stud’s evergreen stallion followed up with Money Bags at Morphettville and Dashiell at Cranbourne’s night meeting.

Loot ‘N’ Run (5g Dash For Cash – Dee Dee Creek by Danehill Dancer) held off strong challenges from The Peak (Pendragon) and The New Boy (Rock Of Gibraltar) to improve his record to 7 wins in 30 starts for prizemoney over $200,000.

“He’s a fantastic horse,” Warren said.  “He thrives on racing.”

Warren spelled Loot ‘N’ Run during the summer months last year to concentrate on wet tracks and was rewarded with barrier-to-box victories at Bendigo (Slow 6) and Warrnambool (Slow 7).  “We tried a different tack this year to see how he performs on dry tracks,” Warren added.  “He deserved a Saturday win in town.”

Earlier in his career, the gelding had been successful at Sandown (Heavy 9) and Kilmore (Heavy 10).

Loot ‘N’ Run is a homebred for Mark Wilson who races him in partnership with Brendan Allwood and Michael Malherbe.  He has a 3yo half-brother named Primal Delight (Primus) who was runner-up on debut for Warren at Ballarat in June.

Their dam Dee Dee Creek has a yearling filly by Flaring Sun (Desert Sun) who stands at Copenhagen Stud.  The Tyabb property is also home to Mr Martini, a stakes winning son of Swettenham Stud sire Bianconi.

Dash For Cash sired the winners of 12 races in Australia during November and his top-class galloper Chase The Rainbow is ready to resume in the LR Doveton Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield next Saturday, December 7.

Swettenham Stud stands Dash For Cash for a $7,700 (inc gst) service fee.
