Darley relocates Hard Spun to Japan

Darley continued the revamp of its Kentucky roster with news Hard Spun will transfer from Jonabell Farm to Japan for the 2014 northern breeding season.

The announcement comes a day after Darley relegated Any Given Saturday (Distorted Humor) from Kentucky to a stud in Pennsylvania.

Hard Spun’s three northern crops include USA G1 winners Questing (Alabama Stakes & Zo Impressive (Mother Goose Stakes) and UK G2 winners Red Duke (Superlative Stakes) & Moviesta (King George Stakes).

He also sired last year’s LR Zen-Nihon Nisai Yushun winner Someries.

A Group 1 winning son of Danzig, he replaces Street Sense (Street Cry) who will transfer back to Kentucky.

Hard Spun was a Top 10 stallion among Australia’s second-season sires in 2012-13 and he is currently standing for a $16,500 (inc gst) fee at Darley’s Northwood Park base in Victoria.
