Crime pays at Moonee Valley

The owners of Crime Fighter had a lucrative day out at Moonee Valley on Saturday winning a $100,000 Inglis Race Series Bonus thanks to their galloper’s victory in the Kane Constructions Hcp (2040m).

Crime Fighter (3g Street Hero – Quiet Name by Danehill) was a last start Moonee Valley winner over1600 metres and he took another step forward on Saturday with a decisive victory over Calendar Lad and Family Tree.

The gelding won over $190,000 for his latest win thanks to a $100,000 Inglis Race Series Bonus on top of the $91,000 of prizemoney, Super VOBIS and VOBIS Gold Bonuses.

Crime Fighter topped Session II of the 2012 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling sale at $125,000.  Bought by Peter Moody from the Makybe draft, he has now earned over $246,000.

“He ran out the distance strongly and has always shown ability at home,” stable representative Zac L’Hanson said.  “That will keep his confidence up and hopefully he can continue to progress.”

The G1 South Australian Derby at Morphettville on May 3 is a possible target for the son of former Makybe shuttler Street Hero.  Moody won the 2006 classic in Adelaide with Testafiable.
