Crackerjack King moves to Wyndholm Park

Shamardal’s Group 1 grey Crackerjack King has transferred to Wyndholm Park Stud in Ballarat for his second season at stud in 2016.

Crackerjack King (Ire) stood privately at Oakside Park in South Australia last year.

“Sons of Shamardal are rare and we know the blood works,” studmaster Kim McKellar noted.  “He will suit Victorian breeders tapping into the ever expanding Super VOBIS scheme.”

Crackerjack King began his career with a pair of juvenile victories in Milan and returned the following year to win the G2 Italian Derby from subsequent Arc de Triomphe heroine Danedream.

Sold to Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock, he graduated to a Group 1 success in the Premio Presidente della Repubblica before relocating to Lindsay Park in Australia.  Saddled up four times by David Hayes and Tom Dabernig, he produced a best-placed third in the G1 Turnbull Stakes won by Foreteller.

His dam Claba di San Jore (Barathea) has foaled four other Italian stakes winners – Jakkalberry (Storming Home), Awelmarduk (Almutawakel), Kidnapping (Intikhab) and Joyful Hope (Shamardal).

Crackerjack King (Ire) will stand for a $6,600 (inc gst) fee alongside Floral Pegasus (Fusaichi Pegasus) and Rebel Raider (Reset) at Wyndholm Park.
