Countdown begins for benchmark sale

The Inglis Easter yearling sale is only a month away and anyone serious about racing at the highest level cannot afford to miss the 96th edition of the benchmark sale.

Mosheen’s demolition job in the Australian Guineas marked the 60th Group 1 victory for Inglis graduates in an Australian three-year-old event in the last decade.

Time-honoured classics such as the VRC Oaks (7), Caulfield Guineas (7), Australian Guineas (5) and One Thousand Guineas (5) have all fallen the way of Inglis graduates in the last ten years.

“Yearlings purchased at Easter set the benchmark on the track and at stud,” Inglis managing director Mark Webster said. “We are looking forward to offering another 579 of Australasia’s finest bred and conformed yearlings this year.”

Representing the cream of the yearling crop from Australia and New Zealand’s leading breeders, the depth of pedigree and conformation selection criteria is unsurpassed at any other southern hemisphere sale.

The 2012 Easter Sale will be held at Inglis’ Newmarket Complex in Sydney from April 10 to 12, between the Australian Turf Club’s Golden Slipper and Derby weekends.
