Blahnik’s win in the Listed Christmas Handicap at Morphettville gave his yearling half-sister a timely boost leading into the Gold Coast Magic Millions.

Blahnik (8g Jeune – Gift Bouquet by King’s High) has been a tremendous money-spinner for connections earning over $440,000.  His other black-type victories include the 2006 Adelaide Guineas (G3), 2007 & 2008 W H Wylie Hcp (LR) and 2009 Manihi Classic (LR).

Arrowfield has catalogued a Redoute’s Choice – Gift Bouquet filly for the Gold Coast on account of Adelaide breeders Alistair and Patricia McFarlane.  She will parade as Lot 199 on Thursday morning, January 13.

The McFarlanes operate Tori Park in the Adelaide Hills and they bred and sold Blahnik for $28,000 at the 2004 Adelaide Yearling Sale.

They purchased Gift Bouquet for just $9,000 at a Lindsay Park dispersal in 2002.  She opened her career with juvenile wins at Morphettville and Victoria Park in March 1997 but didn’t win again in a 12 starts.

Besides Blahnik, the mare has also foaled the Listed Adelaide winner Elysees (Statue of Liberty).  Her 2yo is a colt by Lonhro and her latest is a filly by Henrythenavigator born on November 3.
