Chestpeak choice lot at Inglis Broodmare General Sale

The 2012 Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale came to a close on Thursday with positive results and feedback received for the new format which graded the catalogue into three separate sessions.

Buyers supported the new system of a Super Select Session on Tuesday, Select Session on Wednesday and General Session on Thursday.  Trade reached $23.16 million for 434 lots over three days including $1,050,000 for Sharp Susan and $1,025,000 for Mimi Lebrock.

The new look also led to a significant 6 point increase in the overall clearance rate to 73%.

The General Session on Thursday was topped by stakes winning Danasinga mare Chestpeak.  She made $60,000 to the bid of Eliza Park in foal to Dane Shadow.  The NZ bred mare won the LR Canterbury Stakes and was runner-up in the 2002 G1 NZ 1000 Guineas.  She is the dam of stakes placed Flemington winner The New Boy (Rock of Gibraltar).

Kings Concubine and Always Loyal were next best on the leader-board at $51,000 and $45,000 respectively.
