Rich Hill Stud stallion Any Suggestion can extend his lead on the NZ juvenile sires’ premiership when Killa Question travels to the South Island this week.
Killa Question (2c Any Suggestion – Killa Loox by City On A Hill) is a Rich Hill homebred and he will contest three events with the Listed Champagne Stakes at Riccarton the main target.
The Matamata based colt will open his campaign this Saturday and will follow up with another short-course event in April before the $50,000 Champagne Stakes (1200m) on May 5.
“He’s a speed horse,” trainer Paul Shailer said. “And you’ve got to place them where you think they can win.”
Killa Question had the honour of crediting Any Suggestions with his first winner at Pukekohe in October. He has since wrapped up first-season sire honours and already claimed the champion two-year-old stallion title after another son Ockham’s Razor won the Karaka Million.
Any Suggestion was a stakes winner of nine races and also finished runner-up in the G1 Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley behind Miss Andretti. A son of Danehill’s ill-fated son Lion Hunter, Any Suggestion is from the female family of G1 winner and successful sire Show A Heart.
Any Suggestion was bred and owned by Ross and Judy Cutts and raced in same black, white and orange colours as Show A Heart and Woorim. They retained an interest in him with a syndicate of some of New Zealand’s leading commercial breeders.
Any Suggestion heads the NZ 2yo sires’ premiership with earnings of $603,225 ahead of General Nediym ($248K) and Pins ($168K). He stands at Rich Hill Stud alongside Pentire, Shocking and Sir Percy.
