Arrowfield champion Redoute’s Choice has joined an elite group of Australasian sires with 100 stakes winners to his credit.
She’s Clean (4m Redoute’s Choice – Feather Duster by End Sweep) helped him achieve the honour with a determined victory in the LR Triscay Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on Saturday.
Bred by the joint venture of Arrowfield Stud and long-time client John Leaver, She’s Clean was purchased for $300,000 by Ingham Racing from Arrowfield’s draft at the 2010 Inglis Australian Easter Sale.
Her dam Feather Duster is a stakes-placed half-sister to Japan’s 2010 Champion Sprinter-Miler Kinshasa No Kiseki. The mare has a yearling filly by Flying Spur that will be offered by Arrowfield at the upcoming Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale and a 2012 filly by Not A Single Doubt.
Arrowfield will offer a filly bred on the same Redoute’s Choice – End Sweep cross at the Inglis Australian Easter Sale – Lot 58 – from the Group 1 winner Clean Sweep.
“It’s a wonderful milestone but the future for Redoute’s Choice is even more exciting as he enters a new phase of his career at stud in Europe,” Arrowfield Chairman John Messara said. “I’m so proud to see him join such an exclusive group of champion stallions.”
Redoute’s Choice joins his own sire, the great Danehill (176 SW) and the father-and-son pair of Sir Tristram (129) & Zabeel (143) as the only four stallions in history to sire 100 or more worldwide stakes winners from Australasian-conceived foals. Together, they have dominated Australasian racing and breeding for the past three decades.
Like his sire, Redoute’s Choice has reached 100 stakes winners at the age of 16. He has just begun serving a superlative book of mares at The Aga Khan’s Haras de Bonneval in France.
Redoute’s Choice has twice been champion Australian sire in 2006 and 2010 and of his 100 stakes winner, 21 have been at Group 1 level.
