Byblos Flyer wins at Muswellbrook

Byblos (Chi) became the latest son of Hussonet to sire a winner in Australia on Sunday.

His filly Time To Fly By broke through in the HTBA Protect Our Industry Maiden (1280m) at Muswellbrook.  She is trained by Ruth Cooper who is based north-east of Tamworth at Moonbi.

Time To Fly By (3f Byblos – Time To Fly by Marscay) raced on the pace and then lengthened to score by over a length at her third run back from a spell.  Her dam is a sister to G2 winning sprinter Klokka.

Byblos won from 1200m to 1600m as a 2YO in Chile.  He rose to the top as a 3YO winning the Group 1 Casino Municipal de Vina del Mar (1900m) on turf at Valparaíso.

He stood in Chile before transferring to Australia and there have been 17 winners and 2 placegetters from just 19 starters over there.

Champion sire Hussonet was an immediate success at Arrowfield Stud and his sons out here include the up-and-coming stallions Husson (NSW), Host (Vic), Reaan (SA) and Husson Lightning (WA).

Kembla Grange horseman Shane Kember will stand Byblos for a $3,500 (plus gst) service fee this year.  Kember can be contacted on (02) 4262 7005 or 0419 619 095.
