Federation of Bloodstock Agents Australia (FBAA) members spent $8.07 million on behalf of clients on Day 1 of the Gold Coast Magic Millions yearling sale.

Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) agent Craig Rounsefell topped the Day 1 trade with $900,000 for the Dundeel – Miss Finland colt offered by Arrowfield Stud.  “He’s an absolute stand out,” Rounsefell said.  “We couldn’t fault him physically.

“He’s by a freshman sire but from a mare who was a champion and she’s already thrown a Group 1 winner.  There’s been some pressure from Bjorn Baker – I’ve got horses with him – so he will probably be the trainer.”

Rounsefell shopping list also included 3 yearlings for $320,000 on behalf of trainer Matt Cumani.  Among them was a $150,000 late-session Not A Single Doubt filly from Sydney winner Miss Opulence.

Blue Sky Bloodstock (FBAA) agant Julian Blaxland outlaid $1.10 million acting for Aquis Farm and its Sino Proven Syndications.  Top of the dial at $350,000 were colts by Not A Single Doubt (with Michael Freedman) and Choisir (with Toby Edmonds).

Blaxland also bought a Savabeel colt and a More Than Ready filly for a combined $700,000 on behalf of Gai Waterhouse.

Bluegrass Bloodstock:  Lenny Russo stuck with Magnus for Gelagotis Racing ($145,000)

DGR Thoroughbreds:  Duncan Ramage’s top buy was a $330,000 filly by Exceed And Excel

Dynamic Syndications:  $550,000 spend topped by $140,000 Pierro & Dundeel fillies

Peter Ford:  Street Boss ($160,000) & Stratum ($85,000) fillies for Robbie Griffiths

Adrian Hancock:  More Than Ready half-sister to SW Avisto & Celtic Tiger ($340,000)

Laurel Oak Bloodstock: Pierro filly out of G2 Magic Night winner Indian Ocean ($150,000)

Mark Pilkington Management:  Snitzel filly from a half-sister to G2 winner Niagara ($250,000)

Randwick Bloodstock:  Brett Howard targeted the Zoustar – Illuminates filly for $75,000

Sheamus Mills Bloodstock:  Morning session buy for a Zoustar – Fast Talker filly ($360,000)
