Blackfriars heads roster at Durham Lodge

Durham Lodge has announced its service fees for 2011 with Blackfriars leading the roster at $11,000 (inc gst).

The leading West Australian nursery will sell 135 lots at a dispersal sale on June 26 but the stud’s business will continue as normal into the breeding season.

Blackfriars (Danehill) is one of the hottest stallions in Australia and is set to be crowned champion Sunspeed sire in 2010-11.  His progeny have gone to the next level in the past season, culminating in the emergence of super colt Playing God.

Blackfriars is now the standout proven stallion in WA and his fee represents outstanding value.

Universal Ruler (Scenic) is available at $5,500 (inc gst).  A G3 winning sprinter in Perth, he was extremely popular last year covering 86 mares in his first book.

The market demands early returns and the brilliant son of Scenic has been given every chance to be an instant hit when his first crop hit the track.

Hurricane Sky must rate as one of the best value proven stallion in Australia at a $5,500 (inc gst) fee.  He has sired four Group 1 winners and has a winners to runners strike rate of 65%.

Hurricane Sky’s Sunspeed bred progeny are beginning to emerge in a big way.  Due to the Durham restructure, he will stand the 2011 season at Quanah Park.
