Black-type blitz follows Blue Diamond

A week after Miracles of Life won the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes, her sire Not A Single Doubt has added three new stakes winners to his record.

First-up was Petty Cury in the closest of finishes to the G3 Darley Plate (1200m) at Ellerslie.  The Kiwi filly is unbeaten in four starts this season for trainer Don Sellwood and Hong Kong-based owners Matthew and Elizabeth Oram and Andrew Li.

Petty Cury (4m Not A Single Doubt – Bahira by Volksraad) was a $170,000 purchase from Westbury Stud at the 2010 NZB Premier Sale.  Her G3 winning dam Bahira has already foaled LR Mr Tiz Trophy winner Rio Fortune (Captain Rio).  Second dam Conifer Bay (Virginia Privateer) was a G1 winner of the Championship Stakes at Ellerslie.

Next up was the Mick Price trained filly Isabella Snowflake who lobbed in the LR Bob Hoysted Stakes (1000m) at Flemington.

Isabella Snowflake (3f Not A Single Doubt – Tiamo Baby by Strategic) is a homebred for Craig McDonald and he races her with a group that includes Barry Ahearn, Stuart Beer, Paul Crane, Russell Hubbard and Bill Lagerberg.

She is from the family of Melbourne Group winner Vonanne and her only loss in five starts came on VRC Oaks day last November.

My Ex Mate completed a black-type treble minutes later in the G3 Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) at Morphettville.  He was comfortably clear by two lengths at the finish after making the most of a sweet rails run under Dom Tourneur.

My Ex Mate (5g Not A Single Doubt – Indris by Kenny’s Best Pal) was bred by Cescastle P/L and sold for $5,000 as a foal at the 2008 Gold Coast Magic Millions National Sale.  He is from the family of Darley’s Group 1 winners Denman and Preserve.

Local trainer Peter Blanch will have My Ex Mate peaking for the G2 Adelaide Cup back at Morphettville on Monday week, March 11.

Arrowfield Stud resident Not A Single Doubt has now sired 15 individual stakes winners and 6 of them have joined the list this season.  Connections have indicated Miracles of Life will spell until the spring but his unbeaten filly Villa Verde is poised to open her G1 Golden Slipper campaign.

Villa Verde will resume in the G2 Reisling Stakes at Rosehill on March 23 before tackling the Golden Slipper second-up on April 6.

Not A Single Doubt (Redoute’s Choice) has 12 yearlings catalogued for the Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale, including a colt in the Arrowfield draft, and a pair of fillies in the Bellerive consignment.
