Big Singapore win for Yarraman Park

Yarraman Park graduate Mr Big scored another lucrative victory for trainer Michael Freedman in the G3 Kranji Sprint (1200m) in Singapore on Sunday.

Mr Big (3g Elusive Quality – Basamaat by Danehill) cruised along at the front of the field and was never headed to score by nearly two lengths.  It was his third feature win following the G2 Aushorse Golden Horseshoe and G3 Magic Millions Juvenile Championship last year.

“He’s such a genuine galloper,” Freedman said.  “He doesn’t like being passed by another horse and was always travelling well.  In the end, it was probably one of his easiest wins.”

Mr Big has turned out an incredible money-spinner for connections considering he cost just $21,000 from Yarraman Park at the 2010 Gold Coast Magic Millions.  A winner of 7 races in 12 starts, he has banked the equivalent of AUD 497,030.

Mr Big is bred on the same Elusive Quality – Danehill cross as Sepoy.  His dam Basamaat is an Irish bred daughter of G3 Royal Ascot Queen Mary Stakes winner Shining Hour (Red Ransom).  She has a 2yo colt named Wakeel (Shamardal), a yearling colt by Henny Hughes and weanling colt by Mossman.
