Bianconi relocates to Ridgeview Park

Champion Victorian stallion Bianconi (USA) will continue his stud career at Ridgeview Park in 2014.

In a deal brokered by Julie Nairn of LP Stallions, Bianconi will transfer from Swettenham Stud to Ridgeview Park which is based 35km north-east of Bendigo at Muskerry.

“Bianconi has been a wonderful sire for Victoria,” Swettenham owner Adam Sangster said.  “We call him the ‘People’s Stallion’ because his progeny have given so much enjoyment to so many people.  “He gets winners from all sorts of mares over a wide range of distances. And he’s good enough to sire Group 1 winners like Nicconi and Above Deck.”

A son of breed-shaping stallion Danzig, he has topped 100 individual winners in Australia for the last five years in a row and his winners-to-runners strike-rate is a lofty 62%.  He passed another milestone in November when Lord Wimble notched his 1,000th Australian win at Moonee Valley.

“He’s going as well as ever,” Sangster claimed.  “But, through no fault of his own, he’s probably taken a back-seat since the arrivals of Equiano, Master Of Design and Americain.

“Swettenham will continue to support Bianconi.  He’s as healthy and spirited as ever and his fertility remains above 90%.”

Studmaster Phil Sloane is building a quality roster at Ridgeview Park and Bianconi will stand for a $5,500 inclusive service fee alongside a line-up that includes Dr Doute’s, Illustrious Blue, Golden Snake, Best Choice and Scintillo.
