Australian Dazzler by Malibu Moon

Champion Kentucky stallion Malibu Moon has sired hundreds of winners since retiring to stud and his first in Australia arrived at Wyong on Thursday.

Cadazzle (USA) broke through in the Carlton Mid Maiden Plate (1300m) at her third start in Australia.  She had been placed at Saratoga, Belmont Park and Santa Anita as a two and three year-old before landing here in June 2011.

Cadazzle (4m Malibu Moon – Key To The Cat by Tale of the Cat) increased her residual value for the Galaxy Breeding Syndicate at Wyong and, on the strength of that victory, there are city wins ahead.

The North American import is a younger half-sister Miss Catalyst (Mr Greeley) who was a Listed winner of the Pebbles Stakes at Belmont.  Their dam Key To The Cat also won at Listed level in the Katy Stakes in Houston.

Malibu Moon (A P Indy) stands for a $70,000 fee at Spendthrift Farm in Kentucky.  He has sired 461 individual winners at a 72% strike-rate.  There have been 8 Group 1 winners in that total, the latest being the Bob Baffert trained filly Eden’s Moon in the Las Virgenes Stakes at Santa Anita.
