Artie Schiller on the move in Kentucky

Independent Stallions shuttler Artie Schiller will be transferred from Hurricane Hall to Pauls Mill Stud in Kentucky for the 2010 northern breeding season.

Artie Schiller (El Prado) has served two books at Mike Becker’s Nagambie nursery and has been popular with Super VOBIS breeders covering a total of 178 mares at a $22,000 fee.

Ben Walden, president of Hurricane Hall in Lexington, announced the stallion operation will be relocated to his newly-purchased 265-acre property in Woodford County near Versailles in Kentucky.

Breeders Cup Mile (G1) winner Artie Schiller has over 100 first-crop Kentucky bred yearlings and the majority of them will be catalogued for the 2009 sales later this year.
“My enthusiasm for Artie Schiller has never been greater and I can’t wait for everyone to see his yearlings,” Walden said.

The first Artie Schiller yearlings will be sold at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale in August.  They will also be catalogued for the Keeneland September yearling sale.
