Artie Schiller filly stays in South Australia

Oakbank trainer Bill Smart topped Day 2 at the Adelaide Magic Millions when he snared an Artie Schiller filly for $61,000 on Wednesday.

The filly is from Woodman mare Amazonian and was sold by Wentworth based Sullivans Run.  Catalogued as Lot 311, the filly is a half sister to promising Singapore galloper High Tick.

Day 2 trade totalled $1.34 million at an average price of $10,651 which was down from $11,713 last year.  The clearance rate was down 10 points to74%.

“It was pleasing to see South Australian buyers spending more this year than in 2011,” MM Adelaide manager Chris Russell reported.  “It was the same case for our buyers from Singapore, Macau, New Zealand, Malaysia as well as China.”

The Magic Millions road-show now returns to the Gold Coast for the QTIS Yearling Sale this coming Sunday and Monday.
