Arinosa targets Tatt’s Tiara

Improving mare Arinosa is being groomed for a Group 1 assignment in Brisbane following her latest victory in Sydney on Saturday.

Arinosa accelerated with a sprint that saw her surge to victory in the G3 Birthday Card Stakes (1200m).  The grey mare established a two length margin at the finish from Shamal Wind (Dubawi) and Miss Stellabelle (Dehere).

The Swettenham Stud bred mare will be set for the G1 Tatt’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 22.  “She’s going great,” trainer Chris Waller said.  “She does it the hard way and still wins.”

Arinosa (5m Dash For Cash – Amoroso by Revoque) has grown a leg since owner David Puglisi transferred her from Flemington to Waller’s Sydney stable back in November 2011.  From her last 9 starts, the mare has won 6 and been runner-up 3 times with a bank account that stands at $366,700.

Arinosa will miss the Sydney carnival in favour of a Brisbane winter campaign and the G2 Dane Ripper (1400m) will have her cherry-ripe for the $500,000 Tatt’s Tiara.  “Her confidence is right up,” Waller said.  “That’s the key with mares and that’s the right race against her own sex.”

Swettenham sold Arinosa for $32,500 at the 2009 Inglis Melbourne Premier yearling.  Her dam Amoroso was raced by Swettenham owner Adam Sangster and Lindsay Park to wins at Cheltenham (2) and Sandown.  Her yearling colt by Dash for Cash was withdrawn from the 2013 Melbourne Premier Sale.
