Accelarometer transfers to Singapore

Mungrup Stud homebred Accelarometer will continue his career in Singapore.  The McFlirt gelding is unbeaten this season and was last seen winning at Ascot on December 15.

Accelarometer (4g McFlirt – Recoverable by Metal Storm) is currently in quarantine in Victoria and will shortly be exported to the stables of Shane Baertschiger.  He will be set for several feature races this year culminating in the G1 Singapore Derby (2000m) at Kranji in July.

Mungrup owners Gray and Jan Williamson nominated Accelarometer for the 2010 Perth Autumn Magic Millions but he was withdrawn prior to the sale.  He won a Bunbury maiden in March and was runner-up to Rohan in the LR Belmont Guineas in June at the end of a light three year-old campaign.

Trainers Ross and Clint Price sat down with the Williamsons to map out a programme for 2013 and it soon became evident he would be better off in Singapore.  “Gray and Jan have been patient with him until now because they knew we would have a nice horse on our hands this year,” Clint Price said.  “But we would have been throwing away rating points – they go up too quickly here and the prizemoney up there is better than Perth.”

Accelarometer owns a Sunspeed pedigree going back several generations.  His dam Recoverable is by Mungrup’s Champion WA sire Metal Storm and she is a half-sister to Mungrup bred Listed winner Eastern Zone (Warring Nations).

His sire McFlirt (NZ) is currently in sixth place on the Sunspeed premiership with Accelarometer and G2 Perth Cup placegetter Global Flirt his leading earners.  He stands at Mungrup for a $3,300 (inc gst) service fee.
