Zunbaqa in the zone for Lindsay Park

Zunbaqa has joined Lindsay Park’s line-up of potential spring candidates with a dominant display at Morphettville.

The More Than Ready filly completed a hat-trick with a 4 length victory in the Holdfast Insurance 2YO Hcp (1400m).  After an unplaced debut at Ballarat on June 1, she has gone from strength to strength winning a Geelong maiden before doubling up in Adelaide.

“She’s in great form,” trainer David Hayes said.  “She has trained on very well and looks being a nice filly next season.”

Zunbaqa was a $300,000 buy for Sheikh Hamdan at the 2015 Inglis Easter yearling sale.  Her dam Boogaloo (Encosta de Lago) was stakes placed behind Typhoon Tracy at Caulfield.

The Vinery champion has sired 14 individual 2yo winners this season and he’s second in that category behind record-breaking winner Snitzel.  He also sired South African colt Act Of Loyalty who made a winning debut for champion trainer Mike de Kock at Vaal in May.

More Than Ready’s leader in the juvenile division this year is Prized Icon.  The G1 Champagne Stakes winner accounts for $500k among total prizemoney of $1.17 million.

There have been 61 juvenile stakes winners world-wide by More Than Ready.  His English based colt Mokarris (USA), who is also raced by Sheikh Hamdan, landed the latest in the LR Rose Bowl Stakes (1200m) at Newbury on July 15.

More Than Ready (USA) stands at Vinery Stud for a $66,000 (inc gst) fee.
