Tamworth mover by Ready As

Erin Park stallion Ready As moved off the mark with his first winner at Tamworth on Tuesday.

His filly In A Wink didn’t go around a horse on the way to a half-length victory in the Renew Your Membership Maiden (1000m).  Settled in behind the pace by Kassie Furness, she skimmed the rails when the leaders drifted wide on the corner and then sprinted to a winning lead at the furlong.

In A Wink (2f Ready As – Time Release by Switch In Time) is trained by Greg Bennett and started favourite after impressing in a barrier trial a fortnight before her debut.

Ready As is a son of Vinery champion More Than Ready and he was a Canterbury juvenile winner in February 2005 before going down a half-length to Darci Brahma in the G1 T J Smith at Eagle Farm.

He stands at Steve Miller’s Erin Park on the Peel River north of Tamworth.  “All his foals are magnificent types,” Miller said.  “Once people see his stock, they can only be impressed.

“He’s from such a good family.  His dam Neensie foaled 7 winners including Solar Circle who won a Rosehill Guineas.”

Ready As was last advertised at a $3,000 service fee.
