Super Six continued the winning run of Swettenham Stud sires in Singapore on Sunday.

The son of Kaphero let down strongly to win his second race at Kranji for trainer Sam Chua and jockey Peter Lao.  “This horse has made a lot of headway and 1200 metres suits,” Lao said.  “I would give him a score of 90 out of 100 for that win.”

Super Six (4g Kaphero – Ellexcell by Octagonal) is from a half-sister to Hong Kong Group 3 winner Dr Well and cost $13,000 at the 2012 Adelaide Magic Millions.  His unraced three year-old brother by Kaphero is named Aurelius Hero and he is with Dan O’Sullivan at Ballarat.

Their dam Ellexcell foaled a colt in September from the last Swettenham crop sired by Dash For Cash.

Kaphero is also the sire of Super Winner who won on debut by four lengths in Singapore earlier this season and then doubled up with an on-pace victory last month.

Swettenham stallion Host (Chi) has brilliant sprinter Super Kenny on the comeback trail after a life-threatening leg injury.  He ran down G2 Golden Horseshoe winner Kiwi Karma to score by two lengths at Kranji on November 14.

Closer to home, Kaphero colt Our Kaboom is ready to resume after cruising home in a Cranbourne trial on Monday morning.  A winner at Traralgon and Sandown from just four starts during the winter months for trainer Ken Keys, he has been nominated for a Super VOBIS race at Moonee Valley this Saturday.

Kaphero filly Zaaresque is also slated to make her debut at Moonee Valley for trainer Rick Harrison after winning an 800m hit-out for two year-olds on Monday.

Zaaresque was bred by Swettenham Stud’s Breeding Venture No 1 and has the pedigree to jump and run.  Her dam Tigresque was a juvenile winner in Melbourne and Adelaide and, as a spring three year-old, was runner-up in the LR Cadbury Roses Stakes at Flemington.
