Rosemont ready for VOBIS Gold Sale

Rosemont Stud completed a city double this week while staff at the Gnarwarre nursery put the finishing touches on 17 yearlings being prepped for the Melbourne VOBIS Gold Sale.

Talented Mick Price trained colt Pressing landed the first leg for Rosemont owner Anthony Mithen at Caulfield last Saturday.  He rocketed home to score by a neck on debut in the Mindy Green 2YO Plate (1200m).

“He will get over further and is in for a good future,” jockey Daniel Moor said.  “He came out a half-length slow and was always off the bridle.  I was hard at it to get him travelling but then he picked up and sprinted well.”

Pressing (2c Sebring – Lamiraqui by Choisir) is owned by Rosemont Stud after graduating from the 2013 Inglis Easter Sale for $100,000.  His dam is a three-quarter sister to G1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes winner Choice Bro.

With the right black-type beside his name, there could be a place for Pressing on a future Rosemont roster.

On Wednesday, Royal Glance powered home to win the Mistable Hcp (1300m) at Sandown.  The Rosemont bred mare is unbeaten after a seven length romp first-up at Werribee last month.

Royal Glance (4m King Of Roses – Look Hither by Palace Music) gave trainer Mitchell Freedman his first win in town.  “Working her on the beach has been the key,” the Warrnambool based rookie said after the mare scored by a half-length running away.  “We haven’t been in a hurry and she’s going to get out over ground.”

Mike Hirst manages the syndicate that owns Royal Glance.  He also raced her dam Look Hither to three wins on either side of the Murray River and her younger brother Tubular Bells who was runner-up in the 2006 Adelaide Cup.

Rosemont’s VOBIS Gold Sale consignment starts with Lot 3, a Big Brown half-brother to recent Doomben winner Dysfunction.  Trainer Gillian Heinrich has nominated the More Than Ready mare to complete a hat-trick at Eagle Farm a day before the youngster parades at Oaklands.

Other Rosemont updates include;

Lot 112  Foreplay – In The Moment Colt:  Half-brother to recent winners Just Too Hard (Moonee Valley) & Momentary (Cranbourne).

Lot 200   Myboycharlie – Respect Sensei Filly:  Closely related to Listed SAJC Birthday Cup runner-up Sky Raider.
