Princess Hussey timed her breakthrough to perfection at Caulfield on Easter Monday.

Apart from the winning prizemoney, her owners also collected a windfall $10,000 Super VOBIS payment in the Guinot Skincare Maiden Plate (1400m).

Princess Hussey is a daughter of Vinery sire Husson and she had been working up to a win since returning from a 10 month spell in February.  “I got out late and she really let down well,” stable apprentice Harry Coffee said.   “She had just been grinding away in her previous starts but got a smother today and responded really well.

“She had been freshened up and was just too good.”

Princess Hussey (3f Husson – Royal Delago by Encosta de Lago) carries the fluorescent yellow colours of Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock and is a homebred for syndicate manager Darren Dance.

“She came in 54kg with Harry’s claim and he urged her forward when the field fanned around the bend,” Dance said.  “We’re sure there are plenty more wins in store for this girl!”

Dance also has a 2yo Testa Rossa half-sister to the winner named Royal Fantasy.

Princess Hussey was one of five winners by Husson over the Easter long-weekend and they followed his Perth filly Mireille who won her third race in town on Wednesday.  She can win again at Ascot this Saturday for owners George & Wally Daly.

Husson (Hussonet) was Australia’s Champion freshman by winners in 2011-12 and he’s currently entrenched in the Top 10 of the Australian third-season premiership with earnings of $1.48 million.

There are two Husson colts catalogued for the Inglis VOBIS Gold Sale this weekend.  Lot 172 is the first foal of Oh So Frisky (Stratum) and Lot 353 is from Sandown winner Ransom Claim (Red Ransom).
