She’s A Pluck showed no ill-effects from a bad fall when she bolted in at Moe on Thursday.

The Pluck filly raced on the pace and then accelerated to a two-length victory in the Nextra Lotto Plate (1014m).  “She’s got brilliant gate speed and I was happy to sit off the leader,” jockey Craig Newitt said.  “I let her roll as soon as that tailwind was directly behind us and she was strong through the line.”

She’s A Pluck had clipped heels and fell close to the winning post at Bairnsdale in December but that hasn’t dulled her will to win.  “You would go a long way to find one that tries as hard as her,” Newitt added.  “She’s got a mind of her own but she’s got ability and is going to win more races.”

A first-crop runner by Vinery sire Pluck (USA), she is the first foal from Faveaux (Good Journey) who won up to 2000m in Victoria for Echo Beach Bloodstock breeder Alan Green.

Allan Denham’s unraced 2yo filly Classy Anna is another Pluck winner in the pipeline after she cruised home in a Wyong barrier trial on Monday.  And his Caulfield-based 3yo Removal, who is on a hat-trick, was scratched from Morphettville last Saturday to be reserved for another engagement in the coming weeks.

Pluck (More Than Ready) is a Top 6 sire on the Australian second-season premiership.  He has sired the winners of 30 races in Australia this season and they have earned over $1 million in prizemoney.

Vinery stands him for a $9,900 (inc gst) service fee.
