No-frills filly by Dash For Cash

Dash For Cash filly Dash For Knickers jumped the blocks at the 2yo trials on Monday morning with a very impressive, front-running victory over 400m at Lark Hill.

Sent straight to the lead by Misty Bazeley, she was held together to score a straight-forward win over Zedstorm (City Place).

Dash For Knickers is trained by David Harrison and is the first locally-bred youngster by Dash For Cash to appear in Perth.  Her dam Frilly Knickers (Dauberval) has foaled several winners including promising 3yo Father Knick (Blackfriars) who completed a hat-trick at Belmont on October 4.  The mare is a half-sister to Mansion House, one of the early stakes-winners by Blackfriars in the 2006 G3 Sir Ernest Lee-Steere Classic.

Dash For Cash covered 46 mares in his first Sunspeed book at Scenic Lodge.  A Group 1 winner of the Australian Guineas, he had given sterling service in Victoria but transferred to WA when Toronado, Trust In A Gust, Americain and Puissance De Lune arrived at Swettenham Stud.

“His progeny will appreciate the ground in Perth – that was the key factor in bringing him here,” Scenic Lodge general manager Jeremy Smith said.  “They have performed from 1000m out to 2400m and, overall, a higher percentage of his winners have been on firm tracks.

“He has a 65% strike-rate and, at a $2,500 service fee, is an absolute bargain for breeders.”

Dash For Cash is still getting results in the Eastern States.  Dominant Gene was a very promising debut winner at Moe in September and Kirani resurrected his best form with a first-up victory at Bairnsdale last Sunday.

Winning jockey Danny Moor was full of praise for Kirani after the Tesbury Jack Stakes (1200m) took his earnings to $240,000.  “He’s a ripper.  He just cruised along and then eased up when he got to the front.  He’s tough with a touch of class and I was confident he could get the job done today.”

An added bonus for Dash For Cash fillies is their residual value at stud.  Saturday’s G2 Schillaci Stakes winner Super Cash is from a Dash For Cash mare as are Spright (G3 Gucci Stakes), Written Dash (G3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes) and Lord von Costa (LR Creswick Stakes).

Scenic Lodge stands Dash For Cash alongside Blackfriars ($12,000), Snippetson ($6,000) & Universal Ruler ($3,500).  All fees (plus gst) and are subject to discount structures.  For further details, contact Jeremy Smith on 0419 943 356.
