Pink Perfection missed a start as an emergency in the 2014 Magic Millions 2YO Classic and her connections won’t be tempted to travel north for the 3YO Trophy on January 10.

Trainer Peter Moody ruled out a trip to the Gold Coast after his Mossman filly scored a front-running victory at Flemington on Saturday.  “We will stay at home and place her to advantage here,” he said.  “She’s a courageous little filly and the claim for Regan (Bayliss) helped.”

Pink Perfection (3f Mossman – La Mamma Rosa by Testa Rossa) had been nominated for a midweek meeting but was scratched and reserved for the Beachside Hcp (1000m).  “I knew Belle Melba would be hard to beat down at Mornington,” Moody explained.  “We dodged her and raced for three times the prizemoney today.”

A Warwick Farm winner earlier this year, Pink Perfection has now earned over $146,000.  She was a $70,000 buy for Moody at the 2013 Magic Millions and is a half-sister to five-time Queensland winner La Tikka Rosa (Freeze).

Their dam La Mamma Rosa was placed three times at Moonee Valley but failed to win in 10 starts for Moody.  She is a half-sister to LR NSW Tattersalls Club Cup winner Spinning Con.

Pink Perfection was one of 7 individual juvenile winners by Vinery table-topper Mossman in 2013-14.  Heading that list was G1 Golden Slipper winner Mossfun.

Mossman has 13 yearlings catalogued for the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions including a three-quarter brother to his champion sprinter Buffering (Lot 319).
